When at the age of 28, almost by accident, I began studying Italian, little did I know that I was opening the door to what would be an incredible adventure. Since then, every important stage of my life has been marked by my passion for this language.
When I first left for Italy, I did so with a dream in my heart: to spend my 30th birthday in the Bel Paese, almost certain that I would never return to Japan. But my stay in Italy would turn out to be much less long than I imagined, and in the end I stayed there for only a year and a half.
At the time I regarded this return as a failure, but in reality it was only a change of direction that opened up new paths for me.
